What is AirTalkr?
AirTalkr is a multi-protocol Instant Messenger that connects to MSN, Yahoo!, GTalk, AOL and ICQ. Not only that, it also has connects to to various Web 2.0 services like Flickr and YouTube. AirTalkr runs on Adobe AIR, so you will need the runtime to use it. As of now, AirTalkr can run on Windows and Mac.

What can I do with AirTalkr?
On top of chatting with your friends, you can watch and search photos from flickr and videos from YouTube without leaving your desktop. You can view each of your buddies AirCard, a profiling system in AirTalkr that gathers your buddies profile from the web!

What is AirCard?
AirCard is a profiling card that aggregates your im buddies information. We know most of us do not update our IM profiles religiously. But we do it for social networking site! AirCard let you read your buddies most updated Twitters and their Blog entries, see their Flickr photos, and view their profile social networking website on mySpace and Friendster, all in 1 place! You may even discover information of friends that you never knew before!

How does AirCard work?
Aircard uses the buddies information and searches for related information online. If Aircard any find any information, the user can click on the 'ask' button to ask their friends. The friend can then reply, example, their blog url, and Aircard will retrieve the blog feeds.

How is AirTalkr different from other IM?
As there is a huge growing number of IM everyday in the planet (woot!), why is there is need for AirTalkr? AirTalkr is a basic chatting tool with the emphasize on doing more. AirTalkr do not provide additional services, but it let you tap into existing popular ones. So there is no need for any migration. Just launch AirTalkr and there they are! With AirCard, you will always get the updated entries of your Buddies, and you know things like Twitter and Blogs are real updated information of your buddies, rather than an old stale profile.

Why do you create AirTalkr?
AirTalkr is a competition entry for Adobe's AIR Derby competition. It is coded with Adobe Flex 3 and runs on Adobe AIR. It runs backend on OpenFire XMPP server.

Why the name AirTalkr?
AirTalkr, previously codenamed HailStorm, was my second AIR application after Icicle. It is build on AIR, it lets you Talk basically with a little Web 2.0 twist, and so the 'r' behind.I name it AirTalkr because the 'r' behind is cool.
